Help with Hearing the Streams |
If you are at home and have a broadband connection you should be able to receive all of the Caroline streams providing you have a suitable player. If you have dial-up connection then the low bandwidth player should work. The low and high bandwidth players will try to connect using Windows media player if your computer uses Windows or your default player (eg Quicktime) if you have a Mac or use Linux. If you are at work there may be a firewall which blocks most of our streams, however if you have a Windows computer and use the low bandwidth player it should work. Unfortunately the low bandwidth stream for non Windows machines is likely to be blocked.
If you are trying to connect using a mobile telephone please see the mobile page.
If you are trying to listen to one of the aacPlus streams and you see a message about the stream being corrupt, try again. If the message persists check that you have a recent version of the player and that if it is Windows Media Player that you have installed the plug-in.
If you wish to use a different player then you should be able to find a menu option to 'Play URL' or similar. Select this and enter one of the addresses listed below under Web Enabled Equipment. Not all players can play aacPlus but the mp3 stream should work. I suggest you then save the link as a playlist for future use.
If you wish to listen via equipment such as Philips Streaming or a Squeezebox then you may need to enter the actual address (URL) of the stream you wish to use. These are given below:
64K mp3 stream address: http://sc2.radiocaroline.net:8000
48k aacPlus stream address: http://sc5.radiocaroline.net:8010
96K aacPlus stream address: http://sc3.radiocaroline.net:8030
If you have an internet radio you should be able to find Caroline's streams in the stations list. Unfortunately you may find that some streams are from other radio stations who use our name.
